Knit your next hat now with our knitting kit.
The Chantal Beanie is knitted in the round from the bottom up. It starts with a double folded brim in 1x1 rib, followed by the main part in a slipped stitch pattern. The crown of the hat is shaped with decreases and can be knitted in two different ways: a crown with six spiral decrease lines or a classic crown with four decrease lines, depending on what you prefer.
The green hat in the photo is made from Classic col.543 and Prime col.1180 by Cardiff Cashmere [Size 1].
Sizes: 1 (2) 3
The Chantal Beanie is designed with approx. 10 cm of negative ease. This means that the finished hat is approx. 10 cm smaller than your actual head circumference.
Sizes 1 (2) 3 are designed for a head circumference of 54–56 (56–58) 58–60 cm.
Gauge:
After washing and blocking:
26 sts x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm in slipped stitch pattern with needle size 3.5 mm.
26 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm in 1x1 rib with needle size 3 mm.
If you want to knit a larger size, you can order additional balls of yarn separately. You can then easily return any unused balls of yarn to us.
