Icelandic designer Sjöfn Kristjánsdóttir creates all of Stroff's knitting patterns. Her husband, Grétar Karl Arason, takes care of everything else – but it's only a matter of time before he learns to knit too.
The idea for Stroff (originally Petit Knitting) began in Reykjavík when Sjöfn was on maternity leave with her newborn son Ari in the spring of 2017. Sjöfn had done a lot of knitting during her pregnancy and maternity leave and was constantly complimented on Ari's beautiful knitwear, which she had designed herself. The casual suggestion that she should sell her patterns quickly became a reality, and there's been no turning back since.

Nordic knitting - explained in simple terms
This is the philosophy behind all Stroff products.
With this in mind, she also developed a basic pattern specifically for beginners: "All Beginnings Are Easy ," a set consisting of a children's sweater and hat. This set is aimed at anyone who has just learned the basics of knitting (knit and purl stitches) or is perhaps currently teaching themselves through videos, but doesn't yet dare to tackle more difficult projects.
Like most of her jackets and sweaters, this one is knitted in the round from the top down. At first glance, this might look difficult, but every single step is described so thoroughly and clearly that even the most unsure beginner can confidently tackle this project.

The book "Der Aller Anfang ist Leicht" (The Beginning is Easy) showed me how easy it is to knit a sweater myself. It's really brilliant!

Such lovely, thoughtful instructions.

It's perfect that the yarn and pattern can be bought together. Other shops don't offer that. Thank you for the fast delivery.
