Sustainability of our suppliers

Sustainability is very important not only to us, but also to our suppliers. You have the opportunity to trace the journey of your wool right up to the ball of yarn.

LANA GROSSA

With very few exceptions, LANA GROSSA's entire production takes place in leading spinning mills in Northern Italy, particularly in Biella and Prato. This region boasts a wool-making tradition and craftsmanship whose roots stretch back to the 19th century, while simultaneously adhering to modern environmental guidelines. GOTS certification, the Oeko-Tex Standard, and dyeing processes compliant with the international REACH standard are standard practice here.

SANDNES

A key concept in both animal welfare and sustainability is traceability. This involves insight, transparency, and documentation into the sourcing of raw materials and the processes involved in the manufacturing process leading to the finished product. Certifications and audits by independent third parties are important means of creating this kind of transparency, but these systems are still under development. Due to the current nature of the wool trade, documenting a fully traceable supply chain has proven very difficult.
