The CLARA Cardigan is a slightly oversized chunky knit cardigan. Perfect for cold days, cozy hours on the sofa, or as a transitional jacket in spring.

The jacket is knitted top-down in half-brioche. The "textured" side of the pattern is the front. First, the back piece is knitted, then the right and left front pieces. Afterwards, all parts are joined to form the body and continued in rows. The jacket finishes with a ribbed cuff.

For the sleeves, stitches are picked up along the sides and knitted in the round in half-brioche. The front band is knitted on last and can be worked either in a rib pattern or as a double-knit band.

The knitting kit contains an alternative to the original yarn specified in the pattern.

Fits chest circumference:

Knitted chest circumference:

Total length (excluding collar):

The jacket should have a positive ease of approx. 15-20 cm to the body. For example, if you have a chest circumference of 92 cm, you should knit size M.

Gauge: Half-brioche in rows with 6.5 mm needles: 15 sts x 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm (washed, unstretched and measured flat)

The instructions use the following techniques:  Half-brioche with yarn overs, left and right-leaning double increases, left and right-leaning double decreases, Italian bind-off, double-face technique

If you want to knit a larger size, you can order additional yarn balls separately. You can then simply return the unused yarn balls to us.

For this set, you will need the following accessories:

Circular needles 6.5 mm (40-50 cm, 100-120 cm),
Circular needles 6.0 mm (80-120 cm),
possibly double-pointed needles 6.0 mm for sleeve cuffs (but can alternatively be knitted with long circular needles and the Magic Loop method)

For sustainability reasons, these are NOT automatically included in the package.
