Kleiva Jakke from the Sandnes Norske Ikoner Magazine 2410 is a Norwegian jacket for women. The pattern is super beautiful and the double-knitted placket gives it an elegant finish.
To knit this jacket perfectly in the round, it is steeked. This means it is cut open at the front after completion. You start in the round and cast on stitches for the upper neckline. With increases for the raglan and the V-neck, the knitted piece becomes wider and wider. From the underarm level, the body and sleeves are separated. The body is then worked in the round up to the cuff, while the cuff is worked in rows. You finish knitting the sleeves in the round. Now, the stitches at the front in the middle are secured with firm seams using a sewing machine or crochet hook, and then cut open. Finally, you pick up stitches along this seam to knit the double-knitted placket.
The model in the photo was knitted in "Tynn Peer Gynt" in main color "Natur tweed color 2523" and in pattern color "GyntvDark olive color 9873".
