The hat is knitted from the bottom up in the round on a short circular needle, only the cast-on and decreases are worked on double-pointed needles. First, the brim is knitted in half-brioche stitch with purl brioche stitches, then the body is knitted "mirror-inverted" in half-brioche stitch with knit brioche stitches. This creates the same pattern on the front when the brim is folded up. The decreases for the crown are worked as double decreases with right and left slanting. For this hat, it is recommended to use a yarn that is somewhat elastic, as otherwise the half-brioche stitch tends to 'stretch out'. Pure cotton or pure alpaca, for example, are not as suitable.

The knitting kit contains an alternative to the original yarn specified in the pattern.

Sizes: Head circumference: 46-49 cm (50-53 cm) 54-57 cm (58-61 cm)

Gauge: Half brioche with 3.0 mm needles: 22-23 sts x 52-54 rows = 10 x 10 cm

If you want to knit a larger size, you can order additional

balls of yarn separately. You can then return any unused

balls of yarn to us.

For this set you will need the following accessories:

Circular knitting needle 3.0 mm (50-60 cm), double-pointed needles 3.0 mm (20 cm)

If you work with the 'Magic Loop method', you will need a long circular knitting needle 3.0 mm (80 - 100 cm)
