Since 2014, the Brigitte editorial team has been calling on readers to knit the "Scarf for Life" every year. The campaign was launched in partnership with Save the Children, the world's largest children's rights organization, and many eagerly anticipate it each year. Scarf for Life 2022 – a campaign with heart

Whether you're a complete beginner or have been knitting for years, the "Scarf for Life 2022" is a campaign that truly resonates with everyone. Even those who don't knit themselves will be touched by the campaign, as it ultimately aims to make a statement and support Syrian children suffering extreme hardship due to the ongoing civil war. To draw public attention to the plight of children living in the war zone and to support "Save the Children" in their invaluable work, the Brigitte editorial team launched the "Scarf for Life" campaign in 2014. Since then, many knitting enthusiasts have participated, and the number of people donating specifically to children in the war zone during the campaign has increased year after year.

Make a visible statement with the scarf

The idea of ​​knitting not just any garment, but a specific scarf, makes perfect sense. In collaboration with Lana Grossa, a knitting kit including instructions for the current scarf design is offered every year at the end of October. €10 from each kit sold goes directly to "Save the Children" and thus to emergency aid for Syrian children. The release date for the kit is well-chosen, because even if you don't consider yourself a fast knitter, it's quite possible to finish the scarf by December 10th.

December 10th is International Human Rights Day, commemorating the day Eleanor Roosevelt read the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UN Charter of Human Rights) to the United Nations in Paris on December 10, 1948. As in previous years, the kit consists of high-quality Lana Grossa yarn, ensuring easy knitting and long-lasting enjoyment of your scarf. War has been raging in Syria since March 15, 2011, and this is clearly reflected in the living conditions of the children. Due to increasing poverty, many children are chronically malnourished, and even toddlers struggle with serious illnesses.
