The Celeste Sweater is worked from the top down with a circular yoke. First, the neckband is worked, then the circular yoke is worked in a pattern using 5 different colors, following the chart. After the patterned section of the yoke, short rows are worked to increase the back and give the sweater a great fit. The body and sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch in the round and finished with ribbed cuffs.

Note that when knitting with a pattern (Fair Isle), you often need to use needles that are 0-5-1 mm thicker than when knitting in a single color. Therefore, knit both a single-color and a multi-color gauge swatch before you begin your actual knitting project.

The instructions include both charts with the colors of the brown Celeste Sweater and undyed charts that can be colored as needed.

The brown Celeste Sweater is knitted in Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn in the colors Cacao nibs [3091] (main color), Perfect purple [5012] (pattern color 1), Muskat melange [3070] (pattern color 2), Night sky [5591] (pattern color 3) and Shell melange [2710] (pattern color 4).

The white Celeste Sweater is knitted in Peer Gynt by Sandnes Garn in the colors Almond [2511] (main color), Shell melange [2710] (pattern color 1), Mellombrun melert [2652] (pattern color 2), Charcoal melange [1065] (pattern color 3) and Muskat melange [3070] (pattern color 4).

The Celeste Sweater should have approximately 15 cm of positive ease relative to your chest measurement. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) fit a chest measurement of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The finished sweater measurements are shown on the cover. Take your own measurements before you begin knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your chest measurement (or the widest part of your body) is 85 cm, you should choose size XS. A sweater in size 85 cm would fit a chest of 10 cm. XS has a chest circumference of 100 cm and would in this case have a range of motion (positive ease) of 15 cm.

Gauge swatch:

20 stitches x 30 rows in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

20 stitches x 20-22 rows in pattern on 4.5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

If you would like to knit in a larger size, you can purchase additional yarn separately.
Order extra balls of yarn. You can then use the unused balls of yarn.
