The Fortune Sweater is knit from the top down with raglan increases, and the sleeves are three-quarter length. The sweater is knit in stockinette stitch with a cloverleaf pattern. The ribbing at the neck is worked first, folded in half, and then knitted together. Next, the neckline is worked with short rows on the front. The cloverleaf pattern is worked simultaneously with the short rows and raglan increases – please pay close attention to ensure the cloverleaf pattern is positioned correctly so that it is symmetrical and meets properly under the armholes. Please read the entire section on the yoke before you begin knitting.

The Fortune Sweater should allow for freedom of movement (positive ease). The garment should have a length of approximately 15-25 cm relative to your bust measurement. Measure your bust with a tape measure before you begin knitting. Add 15-25 cm to this measurement (depending on how loose you prefer your Fortune Sweater to fit) and knit the size that is closest to the result. For example: Your bust measurement is 95 cm. Add 15-25 cm to this measurement, and you will get 110-120 cm. (95 cm bust measurement + 15-25 cm allowance = 110-120 cm. Size M with a bust measurement of 114 cm falls within this range).

Gauge: 21 stitches x 28 rows with 2 strands of Silk Mohair in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

Should you wish to knit in a larger size, you can order additional balls of yarn separately. You can then simply return the unused balls of yarn to us.

For this set you will need the following accessories:

3 mm circular knitting needles (40 and 80 or 100 cm), 4 mm circular knitting needles (40, 60 and 80 and/or 100 cm), 3 and 4 mm double-pointed needles
