The Ivy Top is knitted from the top down. Construction begins with shoulder increases and short rows, before the front and back are worked separately in rows. The two pieces are then joined to form the body, which is worked in the round on circular needles.

Knit a gauge swatch beforehand to find the right needle size for you. Important: The gauge swatch should definitely be washed – the recommended yarn may expand when washed and worn.

The Ivy Top should have a negative ease of approximately -6 cm relative to your bust measurement. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) fit a bust measurement of 75-80 (80 85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140 150) cm. The finished top measurements are shown on the title page (note that these measurements are only valid if the gauge is maintained). Take your own measurements before you begin knitting to determine the size that fits you best. If your bust measurement (or the widest part of your body) is 90 cm, you should choose size S. A top in size 100 cm will fit a 100 cm bust measurement of 100 cm. S has a chest circumference of 84 cm and in the chosen example would have a range of motion (negative ease) of 6 cm.

Gauge: 20 stitches x 28 rows in stockinette stitch on 4 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm after washing and blocking

Should you wish to knit in a larger size, you can order additional balls of yarn separately. You can then simply return the unused balls of yarn to us.

For this set you will need the following accessories: 4 mm circular knitting needles (40, 60 and 80 and/or 100 cm)
