The Louisiana Sweater is knitted from the top down with raglan increases at the yoke. The neckline, knitted in a rib pattern, is folded over and knitted in place. The Louisiana Sweater is distinguished by its short, feminine cut. The sleeves are finished with a close-fitting cuff. The cuffs on the sleeves and body can also be bound off using the Italian method.

Please first knit a gauge swatch to ensure that the needle size produces the correct gauge before you begin knitting the actual sweater.

The white model sweater was knitted in Børstet Alpakka by Sandnes Garn in the color Natural [1012].

The brown model sweater was knitted in Børstet Alpakka by Sandnes Garn in the colour Brunt sukker [2543].

Size Guide

The Louisiana Sweater should have 15 cm of positive ease relative to your chest measurement. Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL fit a chest measurement of approximately 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 cm. The finished sweater measurements are shown on the front of the swatch (note that these measurements are only valid if the gauge is maintained). Measure your chest (or the widest part of your body) before you begin knitting to determine the size that fits you best. For example, if your chest measurement is 90 cm, you should choose size S. A sweater in size S has a chest measurement of 104 cm and would have 14 cm of positive ease in this case.

Gauge swatch:
10 stitches x 14 rows in stockinette stitch on 9 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

If you would like to knit in a larger size, you can purchase additional yarn separately.
Order extra balls of yarn. You can then use the unused balls of yarn.
