The Paul Cardigan is knitted from the top down in stockinette stitch. First, the left and right shoulders are knitted separately before being joined together to form a single piece.
Then the stitches are picked up to knit the back.
Then, stitches are picked up again to knit the right and left front pieces. Short rows are worked to ensure a comfortable fit at the shoulders. Once all pieces are finished, they are joined together and knitted straight.
Next, stitches are picked up to knit the neckline in a 2x2 rib pattern, which is then sewn down.
Finally, the right and left front edges are worked in double knitting and stitches are picked up to knit the sleeves in the round.

The knitting kit includes an alternative to the original yarn specified in the instructions.

The Paul Cardigan has an oversized fit and was designed to be
that it has approximately 25 cm of positive freedom of movement, with slightly reduced freedom in larger sizes to ensure a more comfortable seat.
This means that the garment's dimensions are approximately 25 cm larger than your actual upper body circumference.

Designed for chest circumferences of 80-85 / 85-90 / 90-95 / 95-100 / 100-110 / 110-120 / 120-130 cm.

Gauge swatch: After washing and blocking:

22 stitches x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette stitch with 4 mm needles.

24 stitches x 31 rows = 10 x 10 cm double knit with 3 mm needles.

26 stitches x 36 rows = 10 x 10 cm in 2 x 2 rib pattern with 3 mm needles.

Should you wish to knit in a larger size,
You can order additional balls of yarn separately.
You can simply send the unused balls of yarn back to us.

For this set you will need the following accessories:

Circular knitting needles:
3 mm, 80 or 100 cm rope length.
3.5 mm, 80 or 100 cm rope length.
4 mm, 40, and 80 or 100 cm rope length.
5 mm, 80 or 100 cm rope length.

Double needles:
3 mm
3.5 mm or long circular knitting needles for the Magic Loop method.
