Petra Polo is worked from the top down. First, the upper part of the back is worked with increases. Then, the shoulders are created from picked-up stitches at the top of the back. Stitches are picked up along the shoulder edges so that all stitches of the yoke are now on one needle and can be knitted together in rows; first with sleeve increases, then with raglan increases. The button bands are worked in double knitting from picked-up stitches. The body is knitted in the round on circular needles, and the sleeves are also knitted in the round with double-pointed needles or the Magic Loop method; either with short or long sleeves. Finally, the collar is made with a tight rib pattern. Petra Polo is closed with three buttons.

First, make a swatch to determine the correct needle size for you. Wash and block it before measuring.

Size Guide

The Petra Polo is designed with approximately 2 cm of positive ease. Sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) fit a bust circumference of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater can be found on the title page. Please note: these measurements are only valid if the gauge is correct. Measure yourself before you start knitting to determine the size that fits you best. For example, if your bust circumference (or the widest part of your body) is 90 cm, you should choose size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 92 cm, and in the chosen example, the positive ease is 2 cm. If, for example, you have broad shoulders but a small bust circumference, you should choose a larger size. Base your decision on the size you would normally wear for a sweater. You can also measure a sweater from your wardrobe that fits you particularly well and choose the size in the instructions that comes closest to it.

Gauge: 24 stitches x 38 rows in stockinette stitch on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm
After washing and blocking: 21 stitches x 39 rows in stockinette stitch on 3 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

If you want to knit a larger size, you can order additional balls of yarn separately. You can then easily return any unused balls of yarn to us.

For this set you will need the following accessories:

Circular needles 3 mm (60, 80 and/or 100 cm), Circular needles 2 mm (40, 60, 80 and/or 100 cm), Double-pointed needles 3 mm and 2 mm (unless you knit with the Magic Loop method)
