The Smilla Sweater is a classic oversized pullover with a simple yet sophisticated cable pattern. It is knitted seamlessly from the top down, so no seaming is required later. The project begins with the back yoke, followed by the casting on of stitches for the front shoulders. After shaping the shoulders, the front and back are joined in the round below the armholes, and the body is then worked in rounds. To create the side slits, the work is divided again, and the front and back are completed separately in rows. Finally, stitches are cast on around the neckline, and the collar—as well as the sleeves—are worked in rounds.

The sweater is designed with a positive ease of approximately 20 cm, see the light version shown.

Gauge swatch: 20 sts x 24 rows in pattern on 5 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm

Should you wish to knit in a larger size, you can order additional balls of yarn separately. You can then simply return the unused balls of yarn to us.

For this set you will need the following accessories:

5 mm and 4 mm circular knitting needles (40 and 80/100 cm)
