Unlike conventional silk, the silkworms are allowed to leave the cocoon before it is processed into silk – a process that makes tussah silk a "cruelty-free" yarn. This silk is prized for its exceptional strength and its ability to make colors shine with intense brilliance. Tussah Tweed is not only ideal for hand knitting, but also for knitting machines, weaving, and embroidery.
Please note that dyeing silk in deep colors requires a significant amount of dye. Therefore, the yarn may bleed slightly during the first wash or transfer some color when worn. We recommend rinsing the garment in cold water before wearing it for the first time to minimize this possibility.
