Zipper Sweater Light Junior - PEER GYNT - knitting set

The Zipper Sweater Light – Junior is knitted in one piece from the top down. The neckline is worked in ribbing, folded double, and knitted onto the inside. The yoke is worked with raglan increases, first in rows on a circular needle to create a slit for the zipper, then in rounds on a circular needle. The body and sleeves are worked in rounds. The back zipper facing is knitted from stitches held on hold, ensuring the zipper looks neat from the inside after it's sewn in. The zipper itself is then sewn in between two layers of knit fabric – either by hand or machine.

Size guide

The Zipper Sweater Light - Junior should have approximately 20 cm of positive ease relative to the chest circumference. Sizes 3-4 (4-5), 5-6 (6-7), 7-8 (8-10), 10-12 (12-14), and 14-16 years fit a chest circumference of approximately 56 (57), 59 (62), 64 (72), 78 (80), and 85 cm. The finished sweater measurements can be found on the front of the pattern (please note that these measurements are only valid if the gauge is maintained). If you/the recipient has a chest circumference of 59 cm, you should choose size 5-6 years. A sweater in size 5-6 years has a chest circumference of 81 cm and would therefore have 22 cm of positive ease. If the measured chest circumference differs from the age recommendation, you should adjust the sweater length accordingly. The same applies if the child is smaller/larger than average.

Recommended needles: Circular knitting needles 3 mm (80 cm), 3.5 mm (80 cm) and 4 mm (40, 60 and/or 80 cm), double-pointed needles 4 mm and 3.5 mm (unless knitting with the Magic Loop method)
