The Charlie Cardigan is knitted flat from top to bottom in stockinette
stitch. You start with the back. The back neckline is shaped with short rows,
followed by increases for the shoulders. After a straight section, stitches are
increased for the armholes. Then stitches are picked up to knit the left and right
fronts individually, with increases for the neckline. Further stitches are cast on
along the side of the neckline, and then the fronts are knitted in rows until the
end of the armholes. Now stitches are cast on for the lower armhole and the
body is continued in rows down to the hem, finished with a ribbed cuff. To knit
the sleeves, stitches are picked up along the armholes and after a few short
rows, work continues in the round. Stitches are also picked up for the button
bands and knitted in 1x1 rib pattern. Finally, stitches are picked up for the collar
to knit it also in 1x1 rib pattern.

The Charlie Cardigan has a regular fit and is designed with approx. 10 cm of
positive ease; reduced for larger sizes to ensure a more comfortable fit. This
means that the garment measurements will be approx. 10 cm larger than your
bust circumference, varying slightly depending on the size. Measure yourself
before choosing the size that best suits you. For example, if your measured bust
circumference (or the circumference of the widest part of your upper body) is
95 cm, you should knit size M. The finished garment in size M will have a
circumference of 104 cm, resulting in approximately 9 cm of positive ease.

Please note that the stated finished measurements can only be achieved if you
maintain the correct gauge throughout the entire knitting process.

Gauge:
23 sts x 32 rows = 10 × 10 cm in stockinette stitch with 3.5 mm needles.
31 sts x 35 rows = 10 × 10 cm in 1x1 rib pattern with 2.5 mm needles.
Measure the swatches after washing and blocking.

If you wish to knit a larger size, you can order additional yarn balls separately.

You can then simply return any unused yarn balls to us.

For this set, you will need the following accessories:

3.5 mm circular needles, 40 cm and 80 or 100 cm.
2.5 mm circular needles, 80 or 100 cm, and double-pointed needles in the same
size if the Magic Loop method is not used.
6-8 buttons (ø = 15 mm), stitch markers, waste yarn or stitch holders,
tapestry needle.
