The Facile Cardigan No. 1 is knitted from the top down. First, cast on stitches for the back. Knit the back to just below the armholes. Then, pick up stitches along each shoulder for the right and left sides of the front. Increase stitches for the V-neck, and work each front back and forth to just below the armholes before joining them to the back. Continue knitting the front and back in rows to the full length and finish with a ribbing. Pick up stitches around each armhole for the sleeves. Knit the sleeves in the round, decreasing stitches at the end for a narrower sleeve before finishing with a ribbing.

The models in the pictures are knitted in the color Ballerina Chunky Mohair Lemon [9004].
