Sporty, fresh, and delightfully uncomplicated: Poppy Sneakers are short socks with stripes that immediately put you in a good mood. Wimbledon features a classic tennis look, with two fine stripes each on the cuff and the toe. Bristol relies on wide block stripes in a maritime style. Both models are worked in stockinette stitch from the cuff to the toe, with a boomerang heel and a ribbon toe. Since there is no pattern to keep track of, these sneakers are ideal for sock knitting beginners, for a quick project in between, or as a fast gift. And thanks to their short shafts, they are finished in no time!

The knitting kit contains the original yarn specified in the pattern: Edelweiss Alpaka 4-ply by Kremke Soul Wool – the cozy version of classic sock yarn with a noticeable alpaca content, durable and machine washable.

In this complete set, you choose the main and stripe colors for each model yourself. The socks in the pattern are knitted in these colors:
Wimbledon: 1 – Natural White (main color), 21 – Red (stripes)
Bristol: 37 – Baby Blue (main color), 1 – Natural White (stripes)

Size: 22/23 to 46/47
Total foot length in cm: 14.5 (22/23) to 30 (46/47), all intermediate sizes according to the size chart in the pattern
Gauge: 30 stitches x 40 rounds = 10 x 10 cm (using 2.5 mm needles) in stockinette stitch in the round.

Good to know: You only need a few meters for the stripes on the Wimbledon model, so you will have plenty of the stripe yarn left over. Perfect for another pair in a new color combination or for small accents in your next project.

For this kit, you will need the following accessories:
Set of 2.5 mm double-pointed needles
Needle for weaving in yarn ends
